Mopps' Music

The founding members of Mopps' Music met in the tipi circle at Camp Winnarainbow in the 1980's, but it wasn't until they were adults did the team blend their hippie upbringings into something magical. With the influences of the Grateful Dead, Country Joe and the Fish, and Gilda Radner, Mopps' Music is a record company that aims to provide great children's music to all ages from babies to boomers.

Devin McDonald
Devin McDonald

Devin McDonald, aka Mr. Mopps, is the son of Country Joe McDonald. Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Devin's life work has revolved around children. As a "manny" and camp counselor for more than 15 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Devin was exposed to the magical world of children's imagination and discovered that kids were the best things to ever happen to adults since childhood. In 2010, Devin and his partner Jenny Stevenson learned of the impending closing of Berkeley's historical toy store, Mr. Mopps', a place he spent much of his childhood weekends. They jumped at the opportunity to purchase it. Today he can be found at the toy store he grew up in, stocking shelves, ringing up sales, providing advice on birthday gifts, and being schooled by 7-year-olds on the finer points of Uno strategy.

Trixie has also recently stepped up to help manage her father's legacy through the Jerry Garcia Family, LLC.
